Schizophrenia

It is a well-known and severe disorder on the spectrum. It is characterized by psychosis, where individuals may experience hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thinking, significantly impacting their perception of reality and daily functioning.

Schizoaffective Disorder

It combines symptoms of schizophrenia, including psychosis and hallucinations, with mood disorder symptoms that may include depression or manic phases of bipolar disorder.

Schizophreniform

It resembles schizophrenia but is diagnosed when symptoms last for less than six months. It often serves as an early diagnosis, and if symptoms persist beyond this period, it may be reclassified as schizophrenia.

Brief Psychotic

It is characterized by a short episode of psychotic symptoms that usually lasts less than one month. This disorder often occurs following a stressful or traumatic event, with individuals typically recovering fully after appropriate treatment.
